Check out the new trailer below for Gillian's new movie, UFO, which is set to be released on DVD and on-demand September, 4th, 2018. The movie is NOT affiliated with The X-Files despite its title and the fact that Gillian's character has red hair just like Agent Dana Scully. 😉
We're just two episodes into Season 11 of The X-Files. First, "My Struggle 3" was unleashed on January 3rd, 2018, and then a surprising dessert after that with "This" on January 10th, 2018.
Let's just get this right out of the way...the premiere SUCKED! WTF? CSM? Really? Mulder & Scully and their babies are forever! Okay, Mr. Carter?
*sigh* lol Anyway, I just KNEW if they continued directly from the finale of Season 10, that it was going to be VERY disappointing. A cliffhanger from TWO YEARS AGO I remind you. However, they needed to pick up directly afterword or things would not have made any sense. So..we got that. Except, we were left with three elephants of continuity in the room:
1) Don't get me wrong...I LOVE Scully's new haircut in this season. Gillian's wardrobe department has finally listened to us. Sadly, It seems, Scully apparently gets knocked out cold and wakes up in the hospital with a redder and new hairdo. Philes love it. Continuity hates it.
2) So, the Cigarette Smoking Man miraculously survived receiving a missile to the face at the end of Season 9 and blowing up. It was amazing enough how he showed Mulder his extensive prosthetic face add-ons at the end of Season 10 after he showed up alive. NOW, in season 11, he doesn't even have any facial prosthesis. Does he heal that well? Does he heal like Wolverine? Hey, Logan and The X-Files are both FOX properties after-all...soon to be Disney possibly.
3) The Cigarette Smoking Baby daddy? Really? Rewriting a classic Season 7 episode? Weakening the Scully character? Do we really need unnecessary murder and rape added to The X-Files, Chris Carter? The fans want a Mulder & Scully happily ever after. WITH "their" baby. Why don't you, too, Chris Carter? Why stretch things further?
So Glen Morgan took over as writer and director for the second episode, "This". The series went back to a non-mythology/monster of the week format for this episode. On top of that...The Lone Gunmen make a return...mainly Langley...at least in digital form. Huge shout out to muffins and Frohike's "spank_bank_v3" computer file ;) ♥ So many computer files and folders on so many PCs and laptops were renamed after this episode. It was so nice getting back to classic X-Files form with Mulder & Scully running through a forest and more. Mr. Morgan...lock Mr. Carter in a room and remind him of what us philes want and expect ;)
I know. I know. We're only two episodes in out of a ten episode season, but as someone who has watched since 1994, as well as new fans, I only want the story of Mulder and Scully to end with great closure. Since 2008, after the release of the second film, I Want To Believe, us philes only wished for a single, third and final movie to wrap up the story. We instead got sixteen new episodes of the series. We are truly lucky bastards.
If this eleventh season ends properly and without any cliffhangers, I will be happy and thankful. To everyone involved. ♥
On a side note: We connected with Mr. Robert Patrick this week on Twitter. He would have loved to return as Agent Doggett, and the producers wanted him in Season 11, but his commitments to his show "Scorpion" kept him from appearing. He is most certainly with all of us fans in spirit. #DoggettLives ♥
Stay tuned for more thoughts from us as Season 11 continues ♥

Gillian and David Duchovny, along with Chris Carter and other crew from The X-Files Season 11 production were on hand at New York Comic Con this past weekend and they debuted the very first trailer for the new season which will air sometime in 2018.
Check out the trailer below.
Who isn't excited for the new season of The X-Files? I know we are. The last season was very bittersweet and ended badly. So here are some things we hope to see in the new ten episode series coming in 2018.
5. NO CLIFFHANGERS
The last 'event series' or 'Season 10' ended with a major cliffhanger of Mulder maybe dying and Scully being abducted by aliens? This season may very well be the last and if so we need to have a great ending just in case. David and Gillian are getting older and have many great projects ahead of them of course. Hopefully we get a great and proper finale to The X-Files saga. Leaving things on a big cliffhanger that may never be resolved would be a horrible way to leave things. Imagine if Season 10 was all we ever heard from Mulder & Scully again. Right? Such a horrible way to end the story. I hope Chris Carter and the other writers of Season 11 close up Season 11 nicely in a way that we will all feel satisfied IF this is the last production of the series.
4. AGENT DOGGETT
It took us a bit, but we grew to love actor Robert Patrick in the role of Agent Doggett beginning with Season 8 of the series. He was dearly missed in the last event series. I really loved John Doggett. He was hard to like in early Season 8 but by the end of the original series run it was hard to imagine The X-Files without him as part of it. A great character and fantastic actor. We hope to find out what Doggett has been up to since 2002. Apparently he IS returning for this new season in some way. Let's hope it is in a more dignified and epic way than his partner, Agent Reyes, returned last season. Doggett needs a 'heroes return' to the series. Even if it is brief. I know Mr. Patrick is very busy these days. I am thankful he was able to be a part of this new season in whatever way he was able to.
3. MORE COMEDY
Who doesn't love the more comedic side of The X-Files? Episodes like "Bad Blood", "Small Potatoes", "Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space'" and last season's "Mulder and Scully Meet The Were-Monster" are highly regarded as being among the absolute BEST of the entire series. The 'Were-Monster" episode from last season is no doubt the most memorable and loved episode of all the six episodes we were given. These episodes are super fun to watch and show off David and Gillian's chemistry to the max. It would not be good to do an entire season full of comedy episodes obviously. It would make Mulder and Scully seem like a joke. The darker, dramatic, and mysterious stories are the backbone of the series. This new season gives us ten new episodes. So at least one or even two of them should give us some silly humor. Gag reels aside lol
2. LESS CARTER
We all love Chris Carter for creating The X-Files. Yes. He has also written and directed some great episodes of the series. However, the best episodes of the series were not written and directed by him. Hopefully Chris backs off a bit this season and lets some other writers explore their visions for Mulder and Scully. We do NOT need a repeat of last season's "Babylon". That episode just may be the absolute WORST episode of the entire series. Leave the politics to the newspapers, Chris.
1. NO MORE MILLER & EINSTEIN
I know FOX likely wants a "next generation" series of The X-Files. Hollywood wants to remake everything these days. Nothing seems sacred anymore. So last season we were introduced to Agent Miller (Robbie Amell) and Agent Einstein (Lauren Ambrose). Seemingly the "next generation" of Mulder and Scully. I am sure some people at FOX were hoping these new characters would be hugely popular with viewers in case they see an opportunity of a cash grab next generation series happening. Nothing wrong with the actors but the characters were so weak and felt like they were just "shoe-horned" into the series. I am sad that they are in fact returning in this new season. Ugh. Hopefully they are killed off early on. They are just NOT working FOX. The X-Files does not need a "Next Generation" series unless it stars the spawn of David and Gillian themselves ;) You know...I hear "Deadpool 2" is also filming in Vancouver, BC alongside the new season of The X-Files. Maybe Ryan Reynolds can make his second appearance on the series. This time AS Deadpool and take care of our little Miller and Einstein problem. Just an idea lol ;)
There you have it. I know we forgot a number of things. We will have further articles coming up with MORE things we hope to see in the new season. Any ideas? We'd love yo hear from you in the comments.
Cheers to The X-Files returning! xoxo
